Yearling and 2-Year-Old Evaluation
Fewer than 12% of yearlings have the physiological make-up of an elite racehorse. It takes a great deal of skill to separate these few from the remaining population, and identifying the stakes horses within this elite group requires aneven greater degree of expertise. Knowing a yearling's or young 2-year old's pedigree and perusing it at the sales is not enough to determine if the horse is worth a financial commitment. The current bloodstock market emphasizes commercially glitzy stallions bred to fashionable mares. Regrettably, many people overlook the importance of a bio-mechanically compatible mating capable of producing a sound yearling that will be a racehorse Even if the horse is the progeny of great racehorses, there is no guarantee that it too will become a great racehorse. We specialize in SALES REPRESENTATION, utilizing our 30 years of experience and extensive computer database to help our clients stay one step ahead of the field. With 90% accuracy, our YEARLING AND 2-YEAR OLD EVALUATION projects what a young horse will measure at maturity, a key indicator of racing ability. By looking for ratios and proportions that resemble those of successful horses, we can determine whether a racehorse is capable of competing at the highest level. Measuring Success
Racehorse Evaluation We compare prospective racehorses to all of the champions and great racehorses in our database, looking for the same ratios and proportions. This evaluation also offers suggestions to maximize the horse's racing performance, including potential number of lifetime starts, favored track surface, racing class, mechanical distance, and optimum racing weight best suited for the horse. Measuring SuccessWe measured SKIP AWAY before the Bluegrass Stakes and predicted him to be in the top 1/2% of stakes horses and to make 40 lifetime starts. He made 38 starts, won Horse of the Year in 1998, was a 3-time Champion, and retired the second leading U.S. money earner ($9,616,360) of all time.
