Cecil Seaman & Co. LLC is a Lexington, Kentucky based consulting firm that has developed a revolutionary system of scientifically evaluating Thoroughbred horses which has no equal in the industry.
There are many agents in the industry that can select a horse for you. But no matter how astute or experienced they are, their visual analysis cannot equal the information gained by physically measuring and scientifically evaluating a horse. Forty years of experience, a unique database and a phenomenal track record are at your disposal. Let Cecil Seaman & Co. measure your success, one horse at a time.
Using equine biomechanics and the company's patented GDT(Genetic Dominance Tree) reports, Cecil Seaman & Co. can analyze a horse's potential in a way that goes completely beyond standard pedigree and conformation analysis. Cecil Seaman started the company in 1977 utilizing bio-mechanical measurements he began collecting in 1969. He and son, Jon, have personally measured over 114,000 horses to create a database that is the largest of its kind in the Thoroughbred industry.
The database is continually updated and contains over 850 champions, 2200 Grade 1 winners, 750 millionaires, and horses such as American Pharoah, California Chrome, Northern Dancer, Mr. Prospector, Secretariat, Bold Ruler, Danehill, Zenyatta, Sadler's Wells, Storm Cat, A.P. Indy, Galileo and Frankel. Clients have bred, raced or purchased 112 Grade 1 winners, 41 millionaires, 36 champions, 15 classic winners, over 25 Breeders' Cup winning or placed horses and won 27 Eclipse awards. Wise Dan, Will Take Charge, Palace Malice, A.P. Indy, and Kitten's Joy are but a few of the successful horses for clients. Clickhere for a list of our Champions, Millionaires, and Grade 1 Winners.
Each horse is measured, then entered into the master database that compares the individual to all the other horses in the system. A grade (A+ to C) is generated, which indicates racing class, distance and surface preference, starts, and optimum racing weight. For broodmare prospects, a patented GDT (Genetic Dominance Tree) report is also run, which uses a color-coded pedigree to identify consistency in a family, and is an invaluable tool used to generate unique biomechanical mating recommendations for clients. Stallion evaluations are done using statistics on progeny generated from the database and can identify whether a young stallion will be successful long before the progeny hit the racetrack.
