Here are the GDT Reports for four of the most prominent stallions in America today: A.P. INDY, GONE WEST, RAHY, AND STORM CAT. They all feature consistent color patterns from the middle of the bell curve (at right). Accordingly, these stallions are compatible with a large percentage of the broodmare population, and have a high probability of passing their champion-like qualities to their offspring.
In contrast, the GDT Report for CRIMINAL TYPE reveals an inconsistent genetic background, and that CRIMINAL TYPE himself is a large horse prone to producing smaller horses, very unlike himself in type. Accordingly, his production record in North America was less than stellar.
Finally, the GDT Report for FERDINAND also illustrates a stallion who did not succeed to the extent that some had expected because his Genetic Dominance Tree is composed of ancestors possessing a wide variety of body types.
